Urafiki Cricket Festival Press Release

With the Grace of Allah (SWT), on the 14th October 2010 the upcoming Urafiki Cricket Festival should be well under way in Arusha. The opening ceremony shall be held at the Imambargah on 14th October from 9:00pm onwards.

A total of 6 teams including Dubai, Mombasa, Dar A, Dar B, Nairobi and hosts Arusha intend to participate in this highly competitive and potentially promising tournament. The tournament will be conducted on basis of the T20 format of the game.

The tournament will be played at the Friedkin Recreation Centre (TGT) and A to Z Textile Mills cricket facilities, two of the best cricket facilities in East Africa, and the festival will be officiated by members of the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) as well as players from the Tanzanian National Cricket Team.

Through out the course of the festival, the organizing team will work hard to keep community members through out the world posted about the scores and happenings of the festival by posting daily updates on the Africa Federation Website (www.africafederation.org)

At the culmination of the event, the Chairman of Africa Federation, Alhaj Anver Dharamsi, will Inshallah grace his presence at the closing ceremony which will be held at the Friedkin Recreation Centre from 2:00pm to 3:00pm after the finals.
